Ear protection for concert season?

Ok, so its almost concert season again and I have quite the gauntlet I wanna see. Warped Tour (x2), Mayhem Fest, Ozz Fest, Gogol Bordello, Modest Mouse, A.F.I and who knows what else b4 its all done. My concern is that some of them are within a week of each other. What kind of risk is my hearing at and what can I do to prevent it. (any alternative to earplugs or some that dont make me look like a total pansy?)
