Self respect?

some people cheat thats a fact, why? because they lack respect for themselves and so thier whole outlook on life and relationship is warped. we live in a society that teaches us that our actions dont account for much, when infact our actions define who we are. i dont cheat not because of the pain it would cause, (although i have no desire to ever hurt the person i love) but rather because i dont want to be that kind of person. if you dont have self respect, if you cant stand by your words, if you live contrary to your own hopes and desires for yourself then what are you? dishonesty is the greatest tragedy of all because it robs us of our own self. please comment?
