Where to live in Devon or Somerset with family?

sherbourne on the dorset/somerset border is lovely with cotswold stone buildings and a good and comfortable rail link to london and exeter, castle cary is also a lovely town as well which is about 20 miles north of sherbourne and is a similar sort of place with very friendly people and an old rustic farmer appeal to it which sherborne lack but makes up with the beauty and civility of the place.
