Why does the radio/MTV/Fuse or anything of the sort only play crappy music?

Why does the radio/MTV/Fuse or anything of the sort only play the crappiest music out there? Its all crap... Why won't any real music get played? I understand that what is popular is what gets played... but did you ever think that maybe its the other way around?... What is played is what gets popular... ITS FRICKEN RETARDED... all radio music is the same i don't care if its country, rap, rock, or whatever... all music on the radio is as simple as can be musically, and lyricaly its stuff that ANYONE could come up with... and its always maybe a short simple verse then a stupid as hell but catchy as hell chorus then a verse again that sounds exactly the same as the first one just with a little bit different words then the retarded chorus again then maybe a little breakdown or interlude then the chorus again...
